Guess (GES) Receives a Buy from B.Riley FBR


B.Riley FBR analyst Susan Anderson reiterated a Buy rating on Guess (GES) today and set a price target of $25. The company’s shares closed last Monday at $15.04, close to its 52-week low of $13.34.

“Guess?, Inc. (GES) reporte d 2Q adjusted EPS of $0.38 vs. B. Riley FBR/consensus estimate of $0.29, driven by America’s Wholesale revenues of +22.3% (+22.4% constant currency), Europe revenues of +9.1% (+14.1% constant currency), and Asia revenues of +0.6% (+5.2% constant currency). America’s retail posted another solid quarter with +2% comps (vs. B. Riley FBR/ consensus estimates of flat/+0.3%), marking the sixth straight quarter of positive SSS. Adjusted operating margin expanded by +130 bps to 7.0% (vs. B. Riley FBR/consensus estimates of – 123 bps/–92 bps). GM increased +181 bps vs. our estimate/consensus of +10 bps/+23 bps, which was driven by higher IMUs and occupancy leverage and occurred on top of +230 bps improvement LY . Management increased 2019 EPS guidance from $1.19–$1.30 to $1.28 –$1.36.”
