Shiner International (BEST) Receives a Buy from Oppenheimer

In a report released yesterday, Scott Schneeberger from Oppenheimer maintained a Buy rating on Shiner International (BEST), with a price target of $10. The company’s shares closed yesterday at $6.59.

Schneeberger observed:

“BEST’s 4Q18 revenue (+38% y/y) meaningfully exceeded our estimate/consensus/ guidance. With the exception of BEST Store, which effectively focused on improving margin, each of BEST’s segments handily exceeded 4Q18 revenue growth expectations. Adjusted EBITDA, which inflected positive in 2Q18, then slid q/q to flat in 3Q18, expanded materially in 4Q18 to exceed our estimate/consensus. 4Q18 adjusted EPS, excluding share-based compensation, also exceeded consensus and notably inflected positive. BEST guided 2019 revenue of RMB 36.5-37.2B (+31% to +33% y/y), which exceeded our prior estimate/consensus of RMB 35.3/35.6B, respectively. We infer a progressive revenue build/margin improvement over the quarters of 2019. Appropriately balancing future growth investments with present growth/margin improvement, we remain constructive on the BEST story.”
