Moody’s Corp (MCO) Receives a Rating Update from a Top Analyst

In a report released today, Joseph Foresi from Cantor Fitzgerald maintained a Hold rating on Moody’s Corp (MCO), with a price target of $145. The company’s shares opened today at $169.99.

Foresi observed:

“. We maintain our Neutral rating on MCO and our $145 PT*. Moody’s reported lower than expected 4Q18 results, including underperformance in the ratings business due to U.S. corporate debt issuance declining in 4Q18. The decline is not a surprise given inner quarter data points and SPGI’s (Overweight) reads during their last earnings call. Management issued 2019 guidance. We look to the conference call for further color on the issuance market particularly corporate, an update on the Analytics business, the margin profile, capital allocation, and updates on the acquisition integration. MCO shares are up 5% intraday versus 1% .”

According to TipRanks.com, Foresi is a top 25 analyst with an average return of 19.8% and a 85.0% success rate. Foresi covers the Technology sector, focusing on stocks such as Jack Henry & Associates, Fidelity National Info, and DXC Technology Company.
