Ladenburg Thalmann Financial (LTS) Receives a Buy from Barrington

Barrington analyst Alexander Paris reiterated a Buy rating on Ladenburg Thalmann Financial (NYSE: LTS) today and set a price target of $4.75. The company’s shares opened today at $2.85.

Paris wrote:

“We believe LTS has significant earnings upside as interest rates continue to rise. We estimate that for each 25 bps increase in the Fed Funds rate, adjusted EBITDA would increase by $5‐7 million. Interest revenue from cash sweep has already increased from $2.0 million in 2015 to $8.0 million in 2016 and $22.1 million in 2017, and we estimate it will rise further to more than $50 million in 2018. It should be noted that our estimate excludes the impact of the most recent Fed rate increase, as well as the likely hike in December and three more in 2019.”
