Jefferies Thinks Constellation Brands Inc’s Stock is Going to Recover


In a report released today, Kevin Grundy from Jefferies maintained a Buy rating on Constellation Brands Inc (STZ), with a price target of $289. The company’s shares opened today at $181.27, close to its 52-week low of $180.17.

Grundy said:

“STZ remains our top large cap growth idea post Canopy Growth’s (< 40% owned by Linton's, CAGNY presentation on 12/11 in NYC. Mr. Linton underscored the importance of WEED's scale, global footprint, and its investment in IP (140+ patents filed)/clinical trials to drive its long-term success. STZ's shares offer a compelling risk-reward w/underlying biz trading at ~13.5x EV/EBITDA (ex-Canopy), below inferior growth staples cos. at ~18x."

According to TipRanks.com, Grundy is a 4-star analyst with an average return of 6.1% and a 61.1% success rate. Grundy covers the Consumer Goods sector, focusing on stocks such as Coca-Cola European Partners plc, Edgewell Personal Care, and Monster Beverage Corp.

The word on The Street in general, suggests a Moderate Buy analyst consensus rating for Constellation Brands Inc with a $250 average price target, a 37.9% upside from current levels. In a report issued on December 10, Cowen & Co. also reiterated a Buy rating on the stock with a $260 price target.
