Interpublic Group of Companies Receives a Hold from Pivotal Research

In a report released today, Brian Wieser from Pivotal Research reiterated a Hold rating on Interpublic Group of Companies (NYSE: IPG), with a price target of $23. The company’s shares closed on Friday at $23.30.

Wieser said:

“We now value IPG at $23, and WPP at 1200p, all on a YE2018 basis. Each of these companies is Hold-rated. An industry that had seemed mostly static for an extended period of time is exhibiting increasingly outward signs of change. From Publicis’ “Power of One” to Interpublic’s agreement to buy Acxiom’s core AMS businesses and the likely significant changes to WPP that seem inevitable around the appointment of a new CEO in the coming months, significant strategic activity is afoot. In general we think that these changes will be helpful for each of the holding companies and the industry more generally.”

According to TipRanks.com, Wieser is a 5-star analyst with an average return of 9.8% and a 72.7% success rate. Wieser covers the Services sector, focusing on stocks such as Nielsen Holdings, 21st Century Fox, and Discovery Comms.

Interpublic Group of Companies has an analyst consensus of Hold, with a price target consensus of $24.50, a 5.2% upside from current levels. In a report issued on July 2, Wells Fargo also maintained a Hold rating on the stock with a $26 price target.
