Benchmark Co. Keeps a Buy Rating on NCR Corp (NCR)

In a report released today, Daniel Kurnos from Benchmark Co. maintained a Buy rating on NCR Corp (NCR), with a price target of $37. The company’s shares closed yesterday at $27.44.

Kurnos observed:

“We view this as indicative of both early success in management’s new software & service game plan as well as of market share gains following Diebold’s (DBD:Not Rated) struggles. Unfortunately, however, FY19 guidance was somewhat mixed, with 0-1% organic growth (1-2% as reported) slightly below consensus on the heels of a disappointing finish to the year in Self-Checkout (SCO) and Point of Sale (PoS), where management acknowledged incremental investment needed to be made. Still, it was nice to see ATM finally perform, and with order volume and backlog up 9% and 22%, respectively, the segment should act as a modest tailwind. EPS was also guided $0.10 light but EBITDA came in $40 million ahead of consensus, most of which we see as just an items adjustment issue. Ultimately, we suspect the FY19 guide will prove conservative but NCR still remains an inexpensive show-me story.”

According to TipRanks.com, Kurnos is a 5-star analyst with an average return of 10.5% and a 55.1% success rate. Kurnos covers the Services sector, focusing on stocks such as Nexstar Media Group Inc, Sinclair Broadcast, and 1-800 Flowers.com.
