With its 1Q19 results, we expect management to spend significant time discussing the recently announced merger with Toronto based Inc (TSX: DCF). The merger will provide an additional ~C$9M of cash as well as ~C$24M of venture capital investments which we expect the company to monetize over the next 24 months. In addition, investors will look for updates on membership growth, as well as the pipeline for new products and potential partnerships. We believe investors are likely to view these updates as more valuable than near-term operating results.”

The RMR Group Inc (RMR)

In a report issued on May 10, Bryan Maher from B.Riley FBR maintained a Buy rating on The RMR Group Inc, with a price target of $87. The company’s shares closed on Friday at $53.17, close to its 52-week low of $48.46.

Maher said:

“RMR reported $0.50, below our $0.53 estimate and the consensus estimate of $0.57. Adjusted EBITDA came in at $24.7M, below our $27.0M estimate, but above the consensus estimate of $23.8M. The miss to our estimates was predominantly driven by lighter than expected management services revenue ($42.6M vs. our $44.3M estimate). This was a result of the re-positioning efforts undertaken at at a couple of RMR’s client companies (Office Properties Income Trust (OPI-Buy, $50 Trust (SNH-Buy, $14 PT)), which should improve their long-term operational prospects but provide a near-term headwind for RMR. Thus far those efforts appear to be operationally paying off for OPI, which handily beat 1Q19 expectations, as we discuss in our recent OPI 1Q19 earnings note.”

According to TipRanks.com, Maher is a 1-star analyst with an average return of -0.3% and a 49.1% success rate. Maher covers the Financial sector, focusing on stocks such as Industrial Logistics Properties Trust, Senior Housing Properties Trust, and Office Properties Income Trust.

Colony Capital Inc (CLNY)

B.Riley FBR analyst Randy Binner reiterated a Buy rating on Colony Capital Inc on May 10 and set a price target of $8. The company’s shares closed on Friday at $5.05.

Binner commented:

“Colony Capital (CLNY , Buy – $8 PT) reported FFO of $0.09/sh., compared to the B. Riley FBR/consensus estimates of $0.13/$0.14. We put the core result at $0.15 after adding back impairment losses in the OED and CLNC segments. The company declared the $0.11/sh. quarterly dividend, although the reported core result did not cover this, which will likely be a focus point for investors. Outside of the impairments, expense management drove the core beat to our model as the company continues to make progress with its restructuring and asset sale plan. We will look to the 10AM Eastern time conference call for updates on the strategic asset review, the upcoming healthcare debt maturity, as well as overall operating results.”

According to TipRanks.com, Binner is a 5-star analyst with an average return of 13.6% and a 67.2% success rate. Binner covers the Financial sector, focusing on stocks such as Health Insurance Innovations, Victory Capital Holdings Inc, and National General Holdings.

Colony Capital Inc has an analyst consensus of Hold.
