Analysts’ Opinions Are Mixed on These Financial Stocks: Solar Senior Capital Ltd (SUNS) and Atlas Financial (AFH)

Analysts have been eager to weigh in on the Financial sector with new ratings on Solar Senior Capital Ltd (NASDAQ:SUNS) and Atlas Financial (NASDAQ:AFH).

Solar Senior Capital Ltd (SUNS)

Maxim Group analyst Michael Diana reiterated a Buy rating on Solar Senior Capital Ltd today and set a price target of $18.50. The company’s shares opened today at $16.90.

Diana said:

“2Q18 net investment income (NII) of $0.35/share matched its $0.35 dividend. With: (1) asset-based lending comprising nearly 40% of SUNS’ comprehensive investment portfolio, (2) low leverage, and (3) 94% floating-rate loans, SUNS appears to be very well-positioned for the current environment. We lower our 2018 EPS estimate to $1.39, from $1.41, because 2Q18 results came in $0.01 below our estimate (and because of rounding). Our unchanged price target of $18.50 equates to 1.1x NAV, inline with best-in-class BDCs. SUNS is our top BDC pick, especially for retail investors, based on its credit risk profile and its interest rate risk profile.”

According to TipRanks.com, Diana is a 5-star analyst with an average return of 7.3% and a 63.3% success rate. Diana covers the Financial sector, focusing on stocks such as First Savings Financial Group, Manhattan Bridge Capital Inc, and Arlington Asset Investment.

The word on The Street in general, suggests a Moderate Buy analyst consensus rating for Solar Senior Capital Ltd with a $18.25 average price target.
