Analysts Offer Insights on Consumer Goods Companies: Logitech (LOGI) and Nu Skin (NUS)

Analysts have been eager to weigh in on the Consumer Goods sector with new ratings on Logitech (LOGI) and Nu Skin (NUS).

Logitech (LOGI)

In a report released today, Nehal Chokshi from Maxim Group maintained a Hold rating on Logitech, with a price target of $35. The company’s shares closed yesterday at $38.72.

Chokshi said:

“Another strong GM quarter, but deceleration in video collaboration a bit concerning. Gaming deceleration in-line with what stacked comps would imply, read- through for HEAR is a positive, in our view. Raising GM estimates such that EBIT is closer toward lower end of unchanged FY20 guidance. We maintain our Hold rating, and view our slightly raised 12-month price target of $35, from $34, within the band of a Hold rating.”

According to TipRanks.com, Chokshi is a 5-star analyst with an average return of 9.8% and a 59.1% success rate. Chokshi covers the Consumer Goods sector, focusing on stocks such as Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Super Micro Computer, and Palo Alto Networks.

The word on The Street in general, suggests a Strong Buy analyst consensus rating for Logitech with a $47 average price target.

Nu Skin (NUS)

In a report released today, Timothy Ramey from Pivotal Research maintained a Buy rating on Nu Skin, with a price target of $85. The company’s shares closed yesterday at $50.87, close to its 52-week low of $44.36.

Ramey commented:

“We were quite pleased to see NUS report 1Q19 EPS at the top of their guidance range at $0.77 vs. $0.64 LY, up 20.6%, ahead of our $0.75 estimate and Street consensus of $0.72. There was a lot of concern about the 1Q with the 100- day crack down on nutritional supplements by Chinese authorities; clearly NUS did not have a lot to worry about and set expectations appropriately. That said, the 1Q was negatively impacted by the prohibition on holding meeting in China and strategies had to shift to more social and online selling – customer counts rose 36% in China. Revenue rose 1.2% but constant currency sales rose 7%. The strength of the $US was a $33.3 million drag on the quarter – about 5%. Sales leaders were flat with last year but customer counts surged 10%. The company continues to see constant currency sales growth of 5%-8% for the year – quite impressive.”

According to TipRanks.com, Ramey is a 4-star analyst with an average return of 8.9% and a 57.3% success rate. Ramey covers the Consumer Goods sector, focusing on stocks such as Constellation Brands Inc, Brown-Forman B, and Flowers Foods.

Currently, the analyst consensus on Nu Skin is a Moderate Buy with an average price target of $75.83, implying a 49.1% upside from current levels. In a report released yesterday, D.A. Davidson also reiterated a Buy rating on the stock with a $88 price target.
