Oppenheimer Assigns Perform On EDU Stock
In a research report issued Monday, Oppenheimer analyst Ella Ji assigned a Perform rating on New Oriental Education & Technology (NYSE:EDU). No price target was given.
Ji observed, “F1Q15 disappointed with a 6% revenue miss, and non-GAAP EPS of $0.73 missed our $0.85E. The company guided F2Q15 growth of 13-17% (above our 12%E) as summer camp and dorm classes are over. While we agree F1Q’s 1.4% top-line growth is likely the trough, we expect more volatility down the road as EDU’s key strong segments are secularly decelerating, while for emerging and growing segments, EDU’s market positioning appears not as strong. Through effective budget control, we think EDU can achieve LT run rate of 12-15% top-line growth along with margin expansion, but we stay on the sidelines given near-term uncertainties.”
According to TipRanks.com, which measures analysts’ and bloggers’ success rate based on how their calls perform, analyst Ella Ji has a total average return of 22.6% and a 57.9% success rate. Ji has a 10.4% average return when recommending EDU, and is ranked #345 out of 3347 analysts.
