Brean Capital Offers Commentary on Facebook Inc From F8 Developer Conference
Brean Capital analyst Sarah Hindlian came out today with a few insights on Facebook Inc. (NASDAQ:FB), as the company announced a number of new products and initiatives during Day 1 of its F8 developer conference. The analyst rates FB a Buy with a price target of $96, which implies an upside of 16% from current levels.
Hindlian observed, "With Messenger Platform, FB will be opening its popular (~600mm users) Messenger app to 3rd party app developers to share content directly into conversations. Featured app suggestions and subtle in-message app download links lead us to view this as an incremental positive in Facebook’s mobile app download advertising business."
Furthermore, "As we expected, Facebook announced the addition of a mobile ad exchange. LiveRail will be expanded into a mobile ad exchange, offering mobile display and video advertising that leverages Facebook’s sophisticated demographic targeting tools. While this directly competes with Twitter Inc(NYSE:TWTR) MoPub, we believe there is sufficient space in the rapidly growing mobile advertising industry for multiple players. We will monitor success and update as we see the product’s general adoption."
According to TipRanks.com, which measures analysts' and bloggers' success rate based on how their calls perform, analyst Sarah Hindlian has a total average return of 0.6% and a 50.0% success rate. Hindlian has a 1.7% average return when recommending FB, and is ranked #2509 out of 3547 analysts.
