Helios and Matheson Analytics Inc (HMNY) Shares Keep Rising Following Analyst Recommendation

hmny logoHelios and Matheson Analytics Inc (NASDAQ:HMNY) shares added 26% to their gains on Monday after Maxim analyst Brian Kinstlinger initiated coverage on the data firm last week. With a Buy rating and price target of $20, the stock has delivered stellar returns of nearly 50% since the initiation was published. (To watch Kinstlinger’s track record, click here)

Kinstlinger wrote, “We expect the low monthly subscription price it set up to initially lose money and to build scale. Companies like Netflix, Amazon, and Facebook were all among the first to market in their respective industries and built scale while losing money, before monetizing their user base. MoviePass is the first to market a movie pass subscription and at the $9.95 price point, we believe the value proposition supports rapid adoption. In fact, its subscriber base grew to over 400,000 from 20,000 in the four weeks following the drop in price.”

“With scale, we see a variety of ways in which the company can impact overall and individual movie ticket sales, as well as individual theater receipts. We project five million subscribers by the end of 2019 and 10 million in early 2021, and that, during that time, MoviePass can begin to impact overall ticket sales through advertising and direct marketing campaigns. Not only will overall ticket sales go up, as was the case with the AMC study, but MoviePass can push trailers, coupons, and other marketing materials about certain titles. As a result, MoviePass would be a key influencer in the movie industry that other key players would want to partner with,” the analyst continued.
