Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is expected to release the new iPhone next month and rumors regarding the new features and changes for the company’s flagship smartphone have been going on for months now.

First and foremost, it is still uncertain what the new iPhone will be called. Some analysts suggest that it might not bear the name “iPhone 7” as expected. Apple, accordingly, might name the new iPhone as iPhone 6SE. Similarly, pricing for the new iPhone has not yet been confirmed. However, estimates state that the base model will be priced at around $800 to $900.

Apple is speculated to unveil the new iPhone on September 7 with pre-orders slated to begin on September 9. The official commercial rollout, on the other hand, is expected to start on September 23.

Here are some of the rumored specifications and features regarding the upcoming addition:

Storage Capacity

Some rumors suggest that the company might be introducing a 256GB model. This gives users the opportunity to do more with their handheld devices, especially now that the iPhones are bigger than ever. Moreover, it is widely believed that Apple will completely ditch the 16GB model with the upcoming iPhone. That being said, the 32GB model is expected to serve as the base model of succeeding iPhones. Of course, the price of the base iPhone model will then be relatively more expensive.

Size and Color

There are also speculations indicating that the new iPhone will come in three size options: 1) a base 4.7-inch model; 2) a Plus 5.5-inch model; and 3) a Pro model. Following the introduction of a Rose Gold color option for the iPhone 6S, it is also speculated that the new iPhone will come in new Deep Blue and Space Black color options. However, the latter color option is believed to be a far-fetched concept.

One of the most popular rumors about the upcoming iPhone suggests that it will come with dual-camera technology. The integration will improve the overall quality of photos taken from the device. However, the dual-camera system is said to be available on the Plus model and possibly on the Pro model— should the rumors regarding its introduction be true.

Other Significant Upgrades

A number of people familiar with the matter reveal that the new iPhone is built with a pressure-sensitive home button. However, early rumors have long been noting that the upcoming model will no longer feature a headphone jack. It will be replaced by a second speaker instead. Consequently, Apple will encourage the use of headphones that have bluetooth and lightning technology compatibilities.

The removal of the headphone jack also supports the rumors that the new iPhone will be entirely waterproof. This speculation is in line with a new patent issued last week.

More importantly, the new iPhone is believed to come with an improved battery capacity of 1960 mAh. This indicates a significant 14% increase in battery capacity from that of the iPhone 6S, which has 1715 mAh.
